Ice Cream

Coldest place in a double door freezer is the left side on the bottom of the freezer.

Speaking of Ice Cream...... Dinner Time (And guess what's for desert)

Ice Cream in our freezer generally won't freeze either, unless the temp setting is turned down really low, at that point the top self in the fridge is too cold! I love spoons, when I was in the U.S.M.C. that's all that the military would give us! When I came back form Vietnam the U.S.M.C. upgraded us to a SPORK? Semper Fi, you Marines on RV.Net know what I'm talking about!

i don't want to 'chisel' my ice cream out of the box

Sit ice cream on floor of freezer. I think you will find it freezes then.

We had the same issue. We moved some stuff around, and put the little blue fan in the freezer. That certainly helped.
If we add anything to the freezer, we do not add the same side as the ice cream. When we add, we move the fan over to help circulate the air.

Your just not eating it fast enough or you need to solicit more help :)

Friend of mine used to run an Ice Cream store.. he started as the "Delivery boy" pedaling his bosses product around the neighborhood by bicycle to the customers who called in an order (They made it on site by the way) and many many years later, after his kids had graduated college. He was still the delivery boy, Delivering by Pick Up to many customers and by Grayhound package express to many more.. Only difference is he was now also the boss. (owned the place)

Well, he explained that there are some ice creams that the colder they get the harder they get.

And others.. You can chill them to zero, -10 or lower and they do not get harder.

So what kind flavor of ice cream do you have.. Some of them never get "Rock hard"... Once you have that figured out check with your local Ice Cream Parlor to find if that is a "Soft Flavor" or not.

if the freezer is hitting "Below zero" Vanilla should be hard as a brick.

Pretty much normal for our little fridges. I see we're neighbors, we've been in the area for 70 years.
