ice makers

I was wondering if anyone who uses a portable ice maker keeps it one of the outside storage bays, how it does

  • Have a portable for the last 5 years. Store it in the front bay, set it up on the passenger side of the dash when in use. Would not be without it as we use it to keep our large cooler iced down. Never had a problem with it.
  • We keep ours in the front, right side bay. We plug it into the outside outlet w/ a short extension cord.
    Wouldn't be without it.
  • Ours lives in the storage under the bed, but gets set up on a small table under the awning when we are set up - I think the noise it makes when it drops a batch of cubes would bother us at night if it was inside ...
  • I have a portable Polar Cube. Keep it outside after using in the bay inside a heavy trash bag. Always empty and dry after use. Pulled the ice make out of Dometic frig and use that to store made ice. Nice big area.
  • We have had one for about 8 years. Wouldn't be without it.

I put ours where the Washer/dryer usually goes. I ran a water line to fill it up with water instead of carry water to it.

We turned off the one in the refrig.
  • Yes, stored in the bay. Pull it out and set just outside when needed. Too much heat blowing inside the bay when I'm trying to cool the coach down. Put it away after filling a big bag with ice.
  • the only time we use it is labor day weekend.(our guest looking to party)

it stays in the outdoor kitchen. IT works good.
  • Mine is inside, just over five years, we use it all the time
I don't think I would want to carry it in the basement
