I'd like some clarity on the California towing speed limit
I just got to California yesterday and noticed the signs that said vehicles towing trailers are limited to 55 mph. I wasn't sure if that applied to me towing my toad (not a trailer) but I slowed down anyway just in case to avoid any problems. I don't want to be pleading ignorance to the CHP.
I'm nearly certain this means that tractor trailers should drive 55 but I noticed they routinely drove 59 MPH. Probably taking advantage of the cushion most law enforcement officers allow.
