Ideal Speed In Class A Gas MH

Care to share what your "optimum" travelling speed is when moving/travelling to a different location in your Class A Gas MH?

Taking into account consideration of: what's best for the vehicle, most cost effective balancing everything out, and most importantly what you feel is best for safety.

Looking forward to the responses and of course how prudent you are during your travels of sticking to that deemed optimum speed.

    Because of the weight, tire sizes, and power differences, each motorhome will likely have a different "sweet spot". Our previous 33' Coachmen for instance, got its best gas mileage at about 62 MPH, but our current 34' Landau is happier at 66 MPH.

    Depends on the speed limit, if it's 55, then that what we do. If it's higher then about 59 mph gets us the best gas mileage.

    on the open interstate we generally keep it between 65-68. in traffic we keep up with the flow.

    Whatever feels comfortable for you, as all drivers are different. Some only feel comfortable at 55-60 and others will run the speed limit up to 70. Just don't exceed your own level of comfort but don't drive so slow as to be a danger to other traffic.

    Optimal speed is the speed that traffic is moving. If you can't do that stay home. A large amount of people are on the clock or providing for their families while on the road. If you can't go the speed limit you are taking bread off their table. If you can't do that safely then something needs to change.

    being in "NorCal" you've obviously driven I5 across SJV. Sorry, I ain't doing 75-85MPH in an RV to keep up with the trucks because someone needs to feed the family
