We enjoy all of the areas along the Oregon coast - there's not one bad one, they just each have something different to offer.
Lewis and Clark Golf and RV Resort in Astoria is nice with FHU. The entire family golfed and most of us are not golfers but it was fun for all, kids included. This gives you easy access to Astoria, the Columbia River and the Ocean. The Maritime Museum is very nice and fun for kids. Then take the waterfront trolly ($2) for a great tour and all of this right on the Columbia River. Fort Stevens has a number of Ocean access points plus the sites have 50A. I took the Kayak tour on the lake and had a nice educational time. This area also gives you easy day access to the Long Beach area in WA.
And there is Rogue Nations and the Canary Museum at the end of the trolly run! We're card carrying members and get $1 off on each beer...:B
