From the west coast, I would imagine SoCal and Arizona would be the most convenient. However, a lot of frosty mornings in the Palm Springs area in Dec and Jan. Corpus Cristi and South Texas are great options and relatively inexpensive. If it is warm enough, AZ has some great state parks along the Colorado River, especially from Parker to Lake Havasu. Regardless, have fun!
