My new 1997 Allegro Bus has Kwikee steps but the door switch is broken (it pops off at inconvenient times) and I'm considering going to a manual step as our rig doesn't really sit that high and I fear...

Since the part that fell off is the magnet that triggers the switch, not the switch itself, it would seem simple to secure the magnet better, bolts and adhesive? and not spend time and money creating a bigger problem for yourself down the road. Actually most any magnet will do to tell the switch the screen door is closed.
