Installing a slide out room in an existing coach

Hello,

I recently acquired a very nice low mileage 2000 diesel pusher (45'er) with a single front room (kitchen) slide out room. I am interested in having a second slide out room (dining booth and sofa) installed in the opposing wall of the front room to create additional living space. I am looking for suggestions of a company who could do this .... hoping to hear from anyone who has had something like this done. I am in Arizona but have no problem traveling to a competent shop.

Thanks for any feedback.

  • A few years ago at quartzite RV v show
There was a company displaying a remodeled vintage Winnebago brave, they put a slide out in it
And all new modern electronics and new interior etc..
    Looked fantastic

So companies like this are around
Sorry i don't remember the business name
  • Don't want to dis the OP, but why would you want to do a mod like this unless you have an unlimited budget not to mention patience. Slides engineered, factory built and installed can be problematic enough. All the systems that have to be modified and integrated has got to be a huge undertaking. I just can't see paying to do this unless you are starting with a Prevost or Marathon and have the previously unlimited budget. Wonder how long the mod would take? I would sure be asking for a 12 month warranty to boot.
  • Thanks guys!.... I did speak to the owner at Hancock and plan to continue the discussion. Salvage yard is a great idea :) I will look into HWH
  • Expensive, will take lots of time, unbalances the MH, may have dependability issues.
  • Possibly HWH Corp. in Moscow, Iowa. I was there one time for warranty work and they were installing a slide out in the MH in the adjoining work stall.
  • I would contact one of the salvage yards for all of the stuff that may be required, including the slide out itself, to see if that is the most cost effective way to accomplish this. RV salvage yard
