Installing Crossfire on an E-350 axle/wheel ??

Has anyone been able to install the Crossfire system on their E-350 axle or wheel?
I purchased the system, but discovered the brackets don't fit. In talking with Dual Dynamics for 1/2 hour they related not making a bracket which would fit the E-350, and that their system would therefor not work on the E-350 Axle/wheel.

But, I'm wondering if someone has able to figure out a way to make it fit.

Thanks for any help, as I would like to install it if at all possible.

Happy travels.
Dan

  • I just put the crossfire system on my 350 I left the wheel simulators off and put it on the axel bolt works great easy to check the pressure by just walking by very easy to add pressure and the tire monitor will screw right on . The great thing about the crossfire it keeps both tires at exactly the same pressure if one goes flat it closes it off .

Please send pictures showing the issue you're having with CrossFire. And if you can, a link to the installation instructions.

Also, what are you trying to attach the system to? The Wheel, the Axle Hub, a Wheel Simulator, a Wheel Cover?

I don't like the idea of valve extensions fastened to the part of a Wheel Simulator that covers the Axle Hub. Why??? If the Simulator comes off, it'll rip the extensions and/or tire valves apart. Or, extensions'll hold onto the Simulator and let it beat up the coach body.

But many rear simulators and front wheel covers attach with threaded fasteners. Our Dicor sims do, and at least some of the Pacific Duallies do also. In THAT case, you can probably fabricate something that attaches to the hub-covering part.

Personally, I think you'd be served as well, probably better, with custom valves like the Borg Dually Valves mentioned above, plus a TPMS kit. You'll see what's going on right from your cockpit. The Borg valves are now available through Camping World. There are often sales, coupons, other discounts.

I, by the way, was a holdout when it came to custom valves. Finally got a Borg kit, and now I'm happier than the proverbial Pig in Mud. Can't recommend them too highly!
  • I had Dually Valves installed on my E-350 purchased thru www.yourtireshopsupply.com and had local tire shop Les Schwab install them. Dick
  • The issue we had when we purchased the TST tire monitoring system is the valve stems on the E350-450 motorhomes would not let the senders mount and it was very difficult to add air when the tires needed air. Don't know if your having the same issue or not. But we ordered a new set of truck valve stems that came bent in such a way to allow easy air filling and screwing on the tire monitor senders. If that is your problem too, I will find the web site for the replacement valve stems.
