Installing DC/AC inverter

Hello All,
I have a Toyota chassis Winnie Warrior. I am considering hooking up a DC to AC inverter from the coach battery to the generator junction box. this way I could have AC without the blasting sound of the generator (except in need). Does this seem feasible? It should work. I think I could also route the wire to the control box and connect there where the generator connects with the various appliances (AC, fridge, etc.) Any ideas on where to run the wires in the best way?

Many thanks

Brian
  • Hi,

Do you plug into the generator?

Many of us just plug in the shore power cord to the inverter. It does require you to disconnect the converter, and, unless there is a massive battery bank, set the fridge to propane.

The process may be automated by setting up a sub panel and an automatic transfer switch.
