Insulating house batteries

My batteries are under the step,2000, Damon, Intruder. They are not protected from the cold.
Has anyone Covered them. Is there a fire hazard, or other reason that would prevent using a wrap around them?
What type wrap? Engine compartment, etc.

Thanks,
Chuck

  • Batteries that are fully charged to 100% are good down to -77 degrees. Here is a link to a chart that gives the freezing point of a lead acid battery based on the amount of charge.
