Getting good rates is a great idea but having the lowest price policy should not be your goal. Please make sure that you get the proper coverage for what you are driving. An RV is big and big always wins but at a cost. Make sure that you have enough coverage for the possibility of a costly wreck. Also you carry passengers in an RV and they are not always belted in as they should be so be sure that you have adequate coverage for your passengers. It is possible to include your RV under your umbrella policy which will enable you to have higher limits at a minimal cost. If one does not have proper coverage they can loose all that they have because of it. Last of all make sure that your rig has the coverage needed to cover repair or replacement in the case of a wreck. With all of this considered then price around. We found Progressive to be the one that could meet all of our needs at a competitive price. - JamesBrExplorerI been happy with The Hartford which was my last move after the previous company kept raising my rates....now paying what I used to by 4 years ago.
- Coyote74ExplorerIf you opt to take an agreed payoff option, which I did last year at renewal. I have been told most insurance companies are doing away with it next year. Anyone else hear anything ?
- wallynmExplorerGiven our experience after being hit by a driver with The Hartford we will immediately engage a lawyer.

We go thru AARP & are with The Hartford which includes emergency road side service & have two cars & the RV with them. We shop it every year & we are still with them. - GrooverExplorer IIDon't just go with the cheapest rate. I have heard too many stories from people that bought cheap insurance and then had lousy service and denied claims. Others got a low come-on price that was followed by major increases each year. After you get your quotes do a little research on their customer satisfaction. Rates will vary widely, sometimes even within a city depending on address. I can tell you that I have used Nationwide for many years and their rates have always been competitive when I price checked and their service has been great. I live in a small town and know the victims of my wife and daughter's driving mistakes and both been quite satisfied with the settlements. That means a lot to me.

- gone2dadesertExplorerGet multiple quotes from various providers, I used a AAA quote to get my existing Foremost policy significantly lower :)
