As others have said, shop around, insurance quotes for the exact same coverage can vary tremendously between companies.
The reason for this variance has very little to do with you in particular, it's a strategy that insurance companies do to diversify their portfolios. Too many customers in one area exposing them a large number of claims from a single event (hail storm, tornado, etc)? They raise rates intentionally causing customers to leave for other carriers, in theory retaining the most profitable ones in the process.
