Obviously the inverter/charger is over charging your batteries. Something is not set up right with the inverter or something has failed in the inverter controller board. Make sure that the inverter/charger is not putting out too much voltage and current and see if you can turn the charger off to go through the reset procedure.

My control panel does not look like the one in the picture. Mine has one on/off button in the center of panel with the three indicator lights going up and down on each side of the power button. Lights on left side are green inverter, green ac in, red fault. On the right side are yellow bulk, yellow absorb green float.
