- DouglasCExplorerDon't know about the 31SS but in my 2006 27DS the 400W inverter is in the bedroom next to the converter, both under the wardrobe & storage drawers. I had to take out the lower drawers to access the inverter.
- j-dExplorer IIThanks, Doug, I'll pass this on.
The 31SS has a single living room slide with rear queen bedroom - mgirardoExplorerIn our 2009 Greyhawk 31FS, the inverter, converter and auto transfer switch are all under the refrigerator.
-Michael - DrewEExplorer IIIs this with the engine running (or perhaps even the parking brake not set)? Often there's a lockout for a front TV set to prevent operation when driving for legal reasons. The laws vary slightly in detail from state to state, but in some any TV screen in front of the plane of the driver's seat back can't operate while driving. Others limit it to ones that are not in the driver's line of sight.
Displays dedicated to driving tasks like GPS or rear view cameras are excepted, if not specifically in the law then certainly by general practice. - j-dExplorer IIDoug, Mike, Am I right in thinking that something would be visible from the "face" of this woodwork, like at least a Fuse or Breaker Panel, or are all the components you mention, completely out of sight till we dig in?
Drew, I think the TV/Power situation was operating as expected till the set went out and a new one installed. That suggests he was familiar with how the system operated and went to duplicate the same conditions. Then again, I'm at the "fergettin' stage" so maybe he is too.
Again, I'll check on all this. - mgirardoExplorerOn our Greyhawk, all the major electrical is under the refrigerator, which is right next to the entry door. The breaker panel and the DC fuse panel are at the bottom of the wall along the stairs into the camper. The battery disconnect switch is also there along with the Awning switch and the outside speakers switch. Under the drawer, under the fridge, there is a wood panel with vents held on by 4 screws. I remove the panel and the draw and can access the back of the panels as well as the inverter, converter and transfer switch.
-Michael - DouglasCExplorerMy original (factory supplied) 400W inverter was completely invisible, hidden away under the wardrobe and lower drawers. I replaced it with a 1,750W inverter which by design needs to be visible. I cut an opening in the lower cabinet at floor level so that the front panel of the new inverter is visible.
BTW: "Drew" makes a good point. Originally my front TV did not work with the ignition on and engine running. I disconnected the wire that went to the ignition so that the TV could be used while traveling for showing videos using the DVD player. - j-dExplorer IICORRECTION...
It is a 200-EIGHT ...2008... model. Probably one of the earlier production, since Chassis is 2007 E450. - cgmartineExplorerAny chance of your friend returning the tv? Just my opinion, but I am not a fan of Inverters to power any device, especially televisions, since there are some great combination tv's with built in DVD players which operate on 12 volt and 110 AC.
- j-dExplorer III hope to see him this coming week. We'll run through all this...
