"smkettner"....I asked out of curiosity, often new owners get bad info regarding things such as propane use and its safety.
A statement above about propane fires is exactly the type of bad information I'm talking about. Unsubstantiated statements about propane catching fire from blowouts and fueling stations are old wives tales.
I was a full time arson investigator for 16 years in Los Angeles County. Of all the RV fires I investigated, they all occurred while parked with the exception of two that were fuel fires from a back firing engine (Chevrolets with quadrajet carburetors). One was a refer install by the owner who didn't install the propane connections correctly and the majority of the rest of them were electrical, or open fires in RV's that were inoperable.
