Invertor, how do I know when batteries are getting low?

My motorhome has an after market invertor that powers just the entertainment equipment (TV, sat receiver, DVD player) I have 2 6 volt batteries for power. How do I know when the batteries are gettin...

If the batteries get too low the Inverter will make noise (BEEP BEEP) and shut down. Or at least it should. All the inverters I've used save the under 100 watt jobs did (Never got that low with them).
