If you can't afford to pay the taxes on an RV perhaps they should be buying a less expensive one. jmho.
I just bought property in a state that is favorable to the snowbird and fulltimer to avoid taxes. I had to jump thru hoops and provide documents up the wazoo to prove I was living there.
With the real estate market and the states loosing revenue left and right from non-residents fraudulently using other state addresses to avoid paying taxes, guess who has to pick up the slack from these slackers.....the tax paying residents of that state. :(
So in essence, avoid paying taxes in your state, and actually you won't have saved anything because ultimately you will be paying more on your taxes anyway just in another area to make up for the loss of state income.
