There is nothing illegal about an LLC.. What is Illegal is using an out of state LLC to avoid paying your taxes.. That is a crime in every state... Now, how powerful is the law that says you must pay your taxes.
There have been many "Big Names" in the criminal world. Few ever rose to the level of Al Capone (I won't even try to spell his real name) So what was he sent to prison for... Tax Evasion. That's what.. Not killing, not smuggling, not bootlegging, not extortion, not any of the nasty things he did.
