mower,
The point is everyone cheats a little and this is an example of how you get caught. Get pulled over in IA, CA, NJ or which ever is your home state and hand the officer your MT registration and your non MT home state DL and this is what should or will happen. An RV owner may not be as lucky as my friend and the fines and fees will far outweigh the original savings from your LLC.
When we purchased our new 08 HR it was registered in ND even though we lived in CA at the time. It is a gamble I took based on the estimated time that we would be remaining in CA. That time turned out to last longer than anticipated and if I had gotten busted for a registration violation that would have been the cost of the gamble. I won that one. You or anyone with a MT LLC may not be as lucky.

p.s. There are never any reasons to to call people names. Especially people you have never met.
I'm sorry, but the man did something very foolish: He drove his AZ registered vehicle to CA, and got a speeding ticket, thereby drawing attention to himself. Had he kept the vehicle out of CA, it would have cost him nothing. Had he kept his speed within legal limits, it would have cost him nothing. He who does something foolish is a fool by anybodies definition. I know quite well, due to the fact that I have done foolish things many times in my life. Yes, I HAVE been a fool!
Again, KNOW the law, and OBEY the law, and you will have NO trouble!
by the way, I have no need for a Montana LLC at this time in my life. I LIVE in Montana! All the vehicles I own that are eligible have PERMANENT registration/license plates on them. Yep, the dreaded TAX EVASION, but perfectly legal!
