There's even been loose talk about creating a Category 6 because of this one. Cat 5 comes in at 150mph and Irma's running with 180 sustained and well over 200 gusts. That's tornado strength spread out over 400 miles and sustained for hours and hours. She's nothing to play with and me personally, if I was in the path, I'd leave. If you're a full-timer and anywhere in the pathway, go west as far as you can go.
We are in full preparedness mode here in NC, bracing for some form of impact. Hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst. Prayers for everyone in the pathway of this storm!
I think I'm under prepared! I went to get some bottles of water today, and no luck so far. I will fill the motor home tank up, but some bottles would be great also.
