Yep, they are warning people from Alabama to North Carolina to be prepared and keep a close eye on Irma.
One thing we have always done is to fill up our fuel tanks before we park for the night, or longer, in an RV park. This is something we do no matter what area of the country we are in at the time. We have found out that with tornadoes and snow storms, things can change overnight and at least we can start off the next morning with a full tank of fuel.
One thing I do not know, and am not really interested in finding out, is exactly what my RV's range is in "stop and go" traffic averaging 20 MPH. While I may have a 400 mile range at normal speeds, I suspect that with continuous stop and go traffic, that my range may only be 200 miles or so. That is only a guess but maybe someone will let us know that is stuck in this grid lock of people trying to evacuate.
Best of luck to all and do what you have to do to stay safe. If you can't outrun this storm, go to a hurricane shelter and leave your RV in the parking lot.
