Get a standalone GPS such as the Garmin 760LMT. You can mount it many ways where you need it. Which ever way you go, make sure the device or software understands what size unit you have. My apple maps system sent me down a road where there was a low bridge which was a pain.
If it were me, and I have done this, do not worry about getting an "N" number of CD's system for your unit. Think about getting a smart phone, iPad, or similar and storing the music digitally on it. Much less trouble than dealing with CD's.
Going forward, many cars and ultimately RV's will discontinue radios with CD players. They are going the way of the VCR, and the famous DoDo bird.
