We just did a 5000 mile trip with a new Garmin Drive 50 LMT. Has lots of features and really different from our old 265. I liked that it has a customizable display. Ex. I could choose time of day, elevation in addition to arrival time speed etc. We did find a few glitches and annoyances. Sometimes the final destination was on the wrong side of the street, beeps to warn you that there is a curve in the road. You might be able to turn the last feature off.
My wife also likes to hold it in her lap to program and the units seem to get better so I wouldn't want to be stuck with an in-dash unit.
I used to have my GPS mounted to a can of beans in the cup holder but since found a spot on the dash, just left of the radio, that the suction cup will fit. Surprised how well it stays there.
