Is Having GPS In The Radio Worth The Time and Money?

If the present radio is working, I'd just use standalone GPS. Why disturb things? Who needs to open up a new rattle or problem if all is OK. Even though I'm not thoroughly thrilled by my Garmin 760, it is useful. And you can always cross reference it with smartphone if in range of signal. Or not use anything if you're going somewhere familiar.
