I don't think you would like going to a towable, because of the extra work involved in setting it up, that you have not done in a long time.
IF you downsize.... seems to me a nice C would suit you. But you would have to get a big one to have the space you are used to. And in that case you might as well keep the DP.
But.. is there anywhere you want to go that you CAN'T go with your DP? Are there things you don't like about it? Can you get by without your toad, to make things simpler? Is it hard to park where you want to?
Also consider that you've already eaten the worst of the depreciation on your current RV. Do you want to do that again?
In your shoes I would spend a LOT of time looking at floor plans & quality of anything you consider, before making a big switch.
