- rgatijnet1Explorer IIII just picked up an order from Walmart. It was some basic items that we needed and I was able to order everything online. I got an email telling me that my items were ready to pick up. I printed out the receipt with the bar code. Using the Walmart app on my phone, I let them know that I was on my way. I drove to Walmart and followed the signs for pick-up. They had several parking places available for pick up orders and you just sit in your car. Within a minute a girl comes by and, from a distance, she scans my bar code receipt, and confirms who I am. Within 5 minutes a guy comes out with my items, opens the hatchback on my vehicle, places the items inside, and asks me if I want to sign the receipt or that he can sign it for me. I let him sign the acceptance and I am on my way. Total time at Walmart was about 10 minutes and I was never within 6 feet of anyone. By the time I got back home, my receipt for my order and delivery was sent to me by email. Very efficient operation and Walmart is trying to hire more people to handle this part of their business..
While I was doing this I couldn't help but notice that the Walmart parking lot was full. I don't know how many people they were allowing in the store but there is no way that you could be inside that store and maintain a 6 foot buffer. On the news tonight they show what looked like a 50 yard long line of people waiting to get into the local Sam's Club. Don't know how many were small business owners or just private customers. Apparently Sam's Club was adhering to the 50% capacity order as Walmart probably was as well. These are tough times and it really depends on all of us to get past this initial virus hump. Since more tests are being done now, MORE positive test will be showing up in all areas. The best you can do is remain socially distant for a few weeks and let things level off. The sooner that will happen the sooner businesses can get back to somewhat normal operation.
My Son has a 5th Wheel and he is restricted to working from home. he lets his wife and the dogs stay in the house and do their normal activities. He gets up at his normal time, showers and dresses, and goes to work outside in the 5th wheel. He has power, WIFI, and phone, as well as peace and quiet. His commute time has cut back from 45 minutes to 30 seconds. Most RV'rs are resourceful and can figure out a way to safely adapt to these trying times. Stay safe. - oldaveExplorerIf you can't figure out how to stay isolated / safe with regards to yourself
and others in your RV then you probably can't figure it out at home either . - MountainAir05Explorer IIAnd if you are retire Military, our base just close it to us except to the hospital. Only active duty allowed , and Fan Camp is now closed.
- ferndaleflyerExplorer IIIJust this minute saw a thing on TV that RV parks in our area were mostly full with plenty more reservations from people wanting to get away from affected cities.....showed pics of 3 parks packed. Not sure exactly where they were but we are in central NC. The Outer Banks is closed to anyone that don't live there.....

Am I doing what I can to keep from getting sick? You bet ya!
Am I really going to stay in my house and avoid all outside human contact? Nope.
I am still hopeful the company will release be from my current job so I can get to Stone Mountain campground and enjoy a week or so of peaceful relaxation.
Well Bill, we should be well chastised. I guess we are not too Entitled, like others are. - bzboyExplorerYou are contradicting yourself when you say you are doing what you can from getting sick but you are not going to stay home and avoid human contact. I'm happy for you that you look forward to losing your job so that you can go camping. Many others arent as fortunate as you.
Look I get it. There are those who feel entitled to do whatever makes them happy, live life to the fullest etc etc etc, without regard to others. Always easier to talk about personal happiness and individual freedoms and not talk about social responsibility and doing the greater good.
To those folks, I sincerely wish you the best and hope you stay healthy. - Bill_SatelliteExplorer IIRule #1....People die.

As you imply, dying isn't the issue because you will be gone. It's the living with breathing issues I'm trying to avoid if I catch this thing. I don't want to spend what time I have left paying for my own or someone else's carelessness when I can take precautions. But that's just me so I take precautions to look out for my own well-being when I figure others are not.
What is wrong with all of you? This immortality thing is WAY OVER RATED. Enjoy life while you can..... Just sayn don't get spooked, unless you are dying, then what the hell.

- ppineExplorer IIBoondocking is one of the safest places to be. Stay away from people. Today we did drive-up pharmacy, drive-up coffee, drive-up groceries. I used gloves when I pumped fuel in the truck. At the rate we are going the beds will be filled up. There may not be a respirator for you. Safer out in the wilds.
