I know there are always discussions on here from someone that is asking about selling their RV. With oil prices hitting the lowest point in 11 years today, it just might be an ideal time to unload your RV if you have the need. Of course you will still be competing against dealers who are also going to use lower priced fuel and the possibility of increasing loan interest rates as part of their sales pitch.From the experts there is a possibility that oil prices will continue to drop in 2016 but if things heat up any more in the Middle East, they also could spike up overnight with a perceived shortage of oil.

While the gas price argument might be a good one, it will likely only work in warm climates. In northern climates the only people looking for RVs right now are those that are looking for a really good deal.Exactly the opposite of the people you want to sell too. After all you want to sell to the people who don't do their research and pay top dollar. Around March is when things really start to sell at least here.

The price of gasoline/diesel would not impact my decision to buy a RV or any other vehicle that uses a lot of fuel.The low price is nice but, we all know it will not last.Fuel prices are just a small portion of owning a Recreational Vehicle.

If I had wanted to sell my motorhome it would've been sold already.

I might sell my coach this summer due to health reasons.

Personally, I don't think there is rally a "good" time to buy or sell, although Spring seems to be the more active time, just like buying a house. Spring has the most activity. As far as prices, (buying or selling), it's just a hit and miss thing. My Realtor told us when we sold our house several years ago .... "everything sells!" Even the most difficult item will eventually sell. (it's just a matter of how long you want to wait and if the price is low enough).

You are right and the last few days the stock market has been dropping because of the various things going on in the world. People may take a wait and see stance before taking on a large debt. New buyers to the RV market consider different things than current RV'rs who are upgrading.

Diesel right now is selling at 2.17 per gallon in Barstow, California. Great for traveling on our coach.

Good clean well cared for rigs with complete maintenance records will always sell. Anyone with a brain knows that fuel economy and RVS don't belong in the same sentence.

Diesel $4.00 gal costs $400.00 to fill
$2.00 gal costs $200.00 to fill
With a 500 to 600 mile range this simply doesn't register in our master plan to die broke??

Simply answer is it will never be easier then when fuel is cheap. Now will it be easy to sell a Class A ?????

We placed our Foretravel on consignment the week before Thanksgiving. The price of oil/diesel had nothing to do with our decision to sell.

Mine is not for sale and is just getting broken in at 93,000 miles.
