Is the new Ford 6 speed really that BIG a deal?

On my 5 spd using the 5 Star tuner it allowed for a MUCH quieter gear selection than the fact version, which ALWAYS seemed dropped to 2nd at slightest hint of an incline.
Very happy with the power and quiet of the Ford 5 speed especially after our Western trip.
