With my Garmin or TomTom, all you have to do is click ALTERNATE route. If you don't like that route, click it again and it will give you another route, and so on until you find the route that you want to use. All I have to do is put in my starting point and destination and it will offer me several different routes to get there, along with the mileage difference. I can still put my settings to avoid toll roads or major highways, etc. Sticking with my "avoids" they will offer several different routes to get from A to B.
