Just remember when wiring (Switches are part of the wiring) gets hot enough, Some nice guys in heavy rubber long coats show up with a big truck and cool you off. They are collectively called "The fire Department".
This is why space heaters in my RV are plugged into special 15/20 or 20 amp outlets.. You see... the standard RV one smelled a bit too much like hot wire.
That said.. I found no evidence of wire damage when I replaced it.. But replace it I did
The HD outlets have heavier wire too, and each has its very own circuit breaker as well.
