ISC 350. Check engine light. How to reset? Freightliner.

Hello all. While climbing up to Bryce Canyon we obviously threw a code and I now have a check engine light on. I don't have the ability to read the code here but would like to see if I can reset it to see if it returns when we leave in a few days. So, two questions,

1. Can it be reset. (I heard rumours that it can be reset using cruise control buttons on smart wheel)

2. I get the feeling that I have lost a little power. (then again its a heck of a hill) Is it possible that the Cummins derates when the service engine soon light comes on)

Additional info: All fluids are good, all gauge readings normal. Runs fine other than like I say, feels a little anemic. Fueled up 30 minutes before I got the light. Coach is a 2003 Fleetwood Revolution.

Thanks in advance. Coach

John & Angela......Typically it takes X amount of restarts to reset if there is no issue. If you just got fuel, I would think about grabbing some new fuel filters and either replace the old ones or at least have the new ones handy.

Thanks Don. I always keep a few spares. I'd like to run the fuel through first before changing them out but if it starts to starve I'll swap them out.

    Hi,

It's going great. Dipping below freezing at night--and my Magnum inverter is quite quite wonderful. It is so nice to be able to limit shore power to 15 amps.

I'd remove the battery cable. Disconnect switches sometimes have a bypass to the computer boards.

Will give it a try tomorrow. Thanks.

    Hi,

I think you can reset it by disconnecting the 12 volt power for ten (or more) minutes. But this will reset all the "learned" behaviors.

Hey Don. Hows it going up there. We tried that (about an hour actually) by turning off the main chassis disconnect. No joy. Thanks for the suggestion though. Great minds think alike. :)
