Actually, I am partial to resurfacing the existing one if it is not cracked.
It has already been heat cycled and will be more stable than a new one.
Most cities have machine shops that can surface one that is warped-- had it done on our 1993 Caterpillar 3116 with a very LONG one piece exhaust manifold. Cost $35. No problem -- still good when we sold it 100,000 miles later.
