Jack-knife sofas

Thanks for all your suggestions. I'm going to try the bed bridge from Bed, Bath, and Beyond. It's worth a try. Then I'll put a cover on top of that to try to hold it in place. The bed does go up and down so I will remove it during the day.

We upgraded from $30 foam pad to a $100 memory foam pad...wow what a differance. Ended up buying another role, cutting in half, for the kids and for use on the jacknife sofa when needed.

I sit and nap on ours often. And don't find it uncomfortable.

Truer words were never spoken. The Jack-knife sofa in our NorthTrail is truly awful for both sleeping and sitting on. Nothing makes an improvement. We can't remove it because the slide cable and motor would be involved. They use the cheapest lightest materials today. OTOH, I love soft beds. The bed in the NT is very very soft and comfortable. I sleep better on that bed than on the one at home.

The JK-sofa in the old '82 Sunline TT and the one in the old '93 Dutchman Class-C are comfortable enough to get a decent nights sleep on. Both have much better quality materials and fabrics also.

Can you leave it down or do you need to make it into a sofa?

tear it out and put in a magic sofa bed from Bradd and Hall.

We use a comforter on the bottom.

I suppose one of these would be practical: Mattress joiner

X2 on the foam pads.
We also use one on the bed and it made a big difference.
