Jake brake on or off driving on flats or small hills?

I also have the Jacob exhaust brake and I just use it accordingly. If I see a long down hill grade, I just press on the switch. But as soon as I hit the straight away I will take it off. I do not like for the engine to be reving up every time I take my foot off the accelerator pedal.

Now city driving where you have stop and go movement, then I will leave the Jakob brake on, helps in the slowing down and less pressure on the brake pads.
