Jensen rear view camera screen going blank
My ACE has the Jensen JRV212T rear view camera/radio. While I have heard a lot of stories about this unit being less than stellar it has worked fine for me for the past year. Until this weekend when we went on a short trip. Here's what it does; works fine for a while, and then the screen flickers and goes blank. After a while it may come back on to the radio screen with the clock at 12:00, then reverts to the actual time. If I try to select the camera it goes blank again. The sound works so I know it's getting power. It does this for all 3 cameras (rear and 2 side/mirror). I have removed it, checked all wiring is secure and put it back. Now here's the kicker, I have never used the dash heat extensively. We don't take many cold weather trips. The unit sits directly above the heater and it was hot. After we arrived at our destination I let it cool down and now it works fine. Not knowing if this is a known issue and I want it fixed, I called Thor, Thor told me to call ASA (Jensen). They claim to have never heard of this issue of it overheating but there is an issue where the screens go bad. Long story short I have to take it to a dealer so they can test it and try to get a new one. Few problems with this, Jensen/Thor will replace if it is in fact a bad unit, but I have to replicate the issue with my dealer and hope it screws up (costs me money if it doesn't). Anyone else ever have this issue?
