Jensen JRV212T Blank Screen

I removed the coach batteries to repaint the compartment and when I switched the battery switch back on my Jenson dash radio screen is blank. I can hear static in the speakers that can be raised and lower with the volume knob, and I was able to put in a CD and eject it(it would not play). The radio will not turn off by pushing the knob in.
I have pushed the reset button several times and even held it for 30 seconds with no results.
If the radio is bad how much trouble will it be to find a new radio that will fit in without butchering the dash?
Not sure if removing the coach batteries caused this, I would not think it would be any different than flipping the disconnect switch.

thanks
Jeff

Everytime I hear someone removing batteries I always have to ask did you hook them back up correctly. if 12VDC batteries NEG (-) marked terminals go to ground

  • Don't know if you found your answer but it you look on some of the other forums you will find that probably thousands of the Jensen JRV212T have had the same issue including mine in my almost new rig.
I am amazed at the number of people with the exact same problem and it's been going on for YEARS people! I don't care if I bought a cheaper motorhome or any of this other nonsense. The complete failure of this radio has been now going on for years and companies keep putting them in and Jensen keeps making them. The only ones we're hearing about are those people that are members of these forums. I can only imagine how many of these have failed industry wide. At $500-$900 a pop this is just wrong! THIS PIECE OF **** SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED years ago but instead I get a recall to have my shower door replaced because it will burn too hot?
