Jensen Antenna

I have a Jensen TV antenna on my travel trailer. The antenna works awesome on "air" and the available channels come in really clear. The problem I have is a fuzzy picture when I switch to cable TV when using RV park cable. If I run the coaxial cable directly from the park cable box to my television, the picture is clear. However, if I run the coaxial cable from the park cable box to the outside RV cable connector, then from the Jensen coaxial connector in my TT, then to my television, I get a fuzzy picture. So, the problem must be between the outside of my TT and the Jensen TV outlet/ switch on the inside.

Could the problem be the switch? My Jensen TV antenna interior outlet has a 12 volt socket, a coaxial connection, a switch for air/cable and a fuse. I have checked all the connections behind the interior outlet and exterior coaxial connection and everything is tight. I hope it's not in the wiring.

Has anyone else experienced this and do you have any ideas what could be the problem?

    x2 on the booster. The switch on your socket plate is an on off switch for your booster, not cable/antenna.

    If it is the same as a Winegard, the switch does choose cable or antenna and also turns the power on to the amplifier when in the antenna position.

    Thank you for your responses. The top of my socket plate is a 12 volt socket. Directly below that is the control switch: the left is air, the middle is off and the right is cable. Just below the switch and slightly to the left is a fuse. If I turn the switch off, there is no picture on the TV, both on air and cable. This is my first Jensen antenna as my previous travel trailers had Winegard antennas with the antenna booster.

    Any other ideas?

    I had a similar problem. Doubt you would have the same exact problem, but I found that whoever screwed the plate to the wall drove the screw thru one of the wires for the booster. I spliced it back together and it works great. Maybe look to see if the booster is powered up. Red light should be on.

    For cable the light should be off. It sounds like you have a wiring problem. Make sure all the coax connections are tight and that the connectors are crimped properly.

    Is this a new trailer? How old is the trailer? Did it work before and now stopped working?

    Have a new Jayco Eagle 338. Cable worked fine for a few trips. Started getting fuzzy and fuzzier as time went along (2 months). Checked everything I could, finally pulled the TV off the wall and found all the cable connectors had vibrated loose. Tightened them up and problem gone. Not tight enough from the get-go.
    Out on the road and did not want to pull it to a dealer so just started following the cable from the entry point to the TV's until I found the problem.

    Good catch. I was having issues with air tv.

    On the same topic, I found a website, antennaweb.org, that gives information on what stations should be available at what locations and what direction the station's tower is located. All you need to do is put in the ZIP code, and if you have it, the street address. Sould be a help in finding on air stations while camping.
