I'm 77 and still feel very comfortable behind the wheel of my rig. I recently returned from my winter stay in Las Vegas and while going through the Provo, SLC, Ogden mess, the overhead message boards were displaying 50+ MPH cross winds, semis and high profile RV's use caution. Between SLC and Ogden the message boards read " SEMIS AND HIGH PROFILE RV'S PROHIBITED BEYOND PARRISH". There were semis parked in the parking lane for miles so no way to get off the freeway. I have anti-sway bars front and rear and a steering stabilizer so the 50-60 MPH cross winds didn't affect me that much. I finally found a space to pull in behind the parked semis and sat there for a few minutes. When I saw other semis whizzing by I pulled back onto the freeway and had no issues handling my rig under those conditions. My point is, being an older guy, I can still handle extreme driving conditions and feel comfortable doing so. Was driving under those conditions foolish, perhaps, but I did prove something to myself.
