Keeping cab warm while driving

We had a C Class that had a curtain between the cab and house and it was amazing how it kept the cab warm while driving
Want to do same in our new A Class Are having trouble finding a way to put a 80" curtain rod up Any suggestions?
  • I ride a motor cycle in the winter so when drive the motor home in the winter I use my heated vest. Plugs right in to my cigaret lighter. Heater doesn't seem to blow much hot air on the drivers side. But the wife is nice and toasty on the passengers side!
  • Use a long bungee cord instead of a rod. Roll it up when your done. Put hooks on either side!
  • We used 3M stick on hooks (the kind you can pull off and not leave any marks or holes), parachute cord for the rod and twin bed sheets to make our cab curtain. Two large hooks on the sides and two smaller ones mounted opposed to each other on the ceiling in the center of the coach to keep the cord from sagging. It works great, cab air conditioner or heater.
  • I'm surprised the engine heat blowing into the cabin won't keep the front of the coach warm???
  • We hung a curtain behind the seats. Curtain rod holder on the wall and conduit. Made curtains with a lightweight material (can't make it heavy) and it works great. Put a hem in the bottom and weights (I used fishing line weights) to hold it down. It's split in the middle and I just use a couple cloth pins for if you have to get up going down the road. We did it for our old MH and our new one and no problems does the job. Don't need it every trip but it works great in the summer for the AC and great in Winter for the heater.
  • We have overhead cabinets that stop just behind the drivers and pass. seats. I installed some self adhesive velcro on the back side of these cabinets. Used a king size bed sheet with velcro sewn to 2 corners and hang it from the cabinets. Also works good in the summer to stay cool.

  • Do you stay in the RV when done travelling? How do you heat it up then? If you are camping why not run the furnace while you are driving?
