Key West suggestions

Check out Venture out on Cudjoe key about 21 miles north of Key West. In the summer they run specials often stay 2 nights get the 3 night free (or something like that). It's full in the winter but last time I was there for months on end it was empty.

We have friends that really LOVE Geiger Key. We are planning on going there early next year.

I opted for this place too instead of KW. We snorkel a lot and it's right in the heart of it. We can daytrip(or night) to KW to see the sights. Nice place with a nice beach and view of the bridge...

We stayed there once and it was ok. Right on the water and a fun bar/resturant on the property. Negative-at least when we were there is was loaded with fleas. Also we had made reservations and were quoted a price per week. When I went to pay they said they had a 10% price increase. Maybe this is normal, I had not run into it before. Any time I have made reservations it locked in the price. Not at Geiger Key. Really did not have a choice as it was in season and everything else was booked. Rubbed me the wrong way.

We stayed at Geiger Key - it's 14m north of KW and is right on the waterfront of a lagoon. Take extensions for sewer, water and power and drive nose in - perfect!

We stayed at Boyd's and really like the close location to Key West. It is a very bike friendly ride. There are also restaurants and Bars within walking distance. If you want to do the tourist stuff Boyd's is nice. If you want the nice weather without the tourist stuff, I'd go to Bluewater.

That was my problem too. Didn't know they were that busy. They are.

If you want the PREMIUM location for Key West it is Bluewater Key....it is a bit pricey but I promise you it will be unlike any other place you've stayed and well worth the $$
