Our little 19' TT has maybe a foot of counter space between the stovetop and the sink. In most motorhomes, there is about the same amount of counter space. Sad.
Fifth wheels that we've looked at invariably have far more. And often a dishwasher and cabinets designed for easy storage of kitchen appliances. If I didn't have an aversion to again using a HD pickup as a daily driver, we would probably be looking for a fifth wheel.
I think you need to get out more. My '94 coach has 101 linear inches of corian on the sink and stove side. If you figure the counter with out the sink and stove, you still have lots of counterspace. In fact to the right of the sink, we have a area that is 32" x 35 1/2" that is all countertop space. On the opposite kitchen wall, we have another corian countertop that is 32 inches long. Keep the toaster and coffee maker on that one. Have lots of surface countertop area. And mine is much like deandec's except the sink in in the area in front of the window, and the area to the right is all counter top and not cut at a angle like deandec's.
But I will admit that when we got to RV shows, my wife always says how much nicer our kitchen is compared to the newer coaches. Maybe we need to go back to the way they made them in the mid 90s.
