EXACTLY what happened when I put one (temporarily) on my V10 E450 Class C motorhome. The V10 started missing immediately after I installed it and it didn't stop until I replaced the K&N with a good old paper filter like Ford recommends ... and it's never done it since using paper filters.

.... and I do know all about using expensive K&N oil treated filters - have had one on my 4X4 GMC pickup for at least 15 years. I clean it and re-oil it regularly with K&N's red-colored K&N oil.

Maybe the computer controlled V10 engine is a bit like a high spirited but finicky stallion horse - feed it and care for it just right so you can be wowed by it's performance. ;)
