In my opinion, for what its worth, junk the K&N!! I have known way to many dirt track race car drivers who say that they will pass dirt into the intake and ruin the engine. I know a race engine builder, who makes a living building winning engines, who will not put the K&N on the new engines he builds.
Now on to the Aero 5050XL resonator/muffler. You are getting rid of a really heavy stock muffler that you don't need on a diesel. Your getting a free flowing exhaust system. You will see a slight power increase and your engine will run better. It will not hurt a thing. In fact, if you have a turbo on your diesel, most states do not even require a muffler, because the turbo is defined as a muffler.
