knocked driver's mirror off

Thanks for the help. Just returned from Disney and touring the Carolinas. Ended up ordering the mirrior from Ironhorse RV repair here in SA and having it overnighted by Ramco. Recieved it 7:30 the next morning and met a mobil RV repair man in Flatonia,TX on the way east, where he replaced it. Had the family back on I-10 towards Disney in an hour. Expensive, but very successful.

At Disney now? That is, all fixed?

Mom did a similar thing to a mirror on her motorhome.

Can't speak to how your's comes apart, as hers has Velvac mirrors. But, I can say you may consider stripping it down to the broken part, and finding someone who can weld it, assuming it's aluminum like Velvacs are. It will be done on the spot, as opposed to waiting for a part to be shipped. Probably cheaper too.

Just lurking here, and don’t know much about the needed repair. With that said, from my so long ago days of machine repair. The tool needed to remove pins from connectors “MIGHT” be a Molex Extractors. You tube has a video on how to use one. They are made to back pins out of connectors. Back to lurking.

There are two plugs inside the front cap...you have to remove the arm to get to them BUT they are too big to go through the stem. You have to find a small diameter tube that will slide over the male pin to depress the fingers that hold each wire in the plug... after taking pictures and making a color coded wiring diagram remove all of the wires from the plugs.
Not sure how your pin is held in the arm but my arm has a set screw and a easy out should let you turn it out. Good luck...you'll need it.
