KOA-Myrtle Beach, SC

Getting ready to pack up and head back home after a wonderful 4-night stay at the Myrtle Beach KOA. We came down for the Fall Harley Rally and I must say, it has been a great experience. The Rally itself is winding down...over the years I guess the thrill of riding has diminished for a lot of folks. Plus, Myrtle Beach itself has take measures to try to discontinue the rallies. They are definitely losing lots of revenue, compared to previous years, but I suppose that's the way they want it.

As far as the KOA, I would highly recommend it to anyone passing through the area or as a destination for a few days. The campground itself is really clean, very shaded with trees and very accessible to big rigs. 80' lots are available with full hookups. They are gravel lots and the actual sites are a bit small once you have everything pulled out and setup but overall a very nice place. The staff are very friendly and helpful and they are strict about security at the entrance. The entire park is fenced so that helps as well. The only real drawback I can find is that it is not on the ocean. The beach is about 3 blocks away from the campground. Not a bad stroll if you want to get out and walk, but if you're planning to go to the beach for the day with chairs, umbrellas and kids.....well, I would suggest you take the golf cart shuttle they offer. They have a General Store with most all of your urgent needs....food, beverage (yes adult beverages too!) and various sundries that you might discover you left home without.

We'll definitely stay here again!

  • Rookie Rver :C here!. Family and I stayed at this KOA several years and gave it pretty much the same critique. Its nice to know they have maintained their high standards and continue to keep customers satisfied. This KOA is probably one of our top five we've stayed at in the country. High five to this KOA...........
