I want to hear from either current or former owners of 2002-2005 Newmar Kountry Star 33 - 36 ft. Class A gas motorhomes as to the roof materials used on them. Also, the passenger side basement compartment dimensions between the wheels. I'm not looking for opinions only facts. I am looking to replace my current MH soon and can't find any specific information otherwise online. I need to store items that require a certain size space. If there is a website available that I can view I would appreciate the link. My wife and I are particular on what we will buy so I am doing due diligence to find it.Thanks!

I can't speak for the bay size, I can for the roof. That will have a Brite Tek roof on it, and IMO is one of the better roofs available. We've owned 3 Newmars now, all 3 with Brite Tek, it's tough, durable, and virtually maintenance free. If it helps, here are the brochures;2002, both gas & diesel2003, both gas & diesel - we owned a 2003 diesel2004, both gas & diesel2006 Gasser - for some reason there wasn't a 2005 gas brochure listed.

Thanks for the responses. I finally was able to get a view of the 2003 brochure from Newmar and it confirmed my fear that Brite-Tek was essentially a "rubber" roof. My '96 Pace Arrow Vision has a EPDM and after that no more of those types for me. It will be only fiberglass or aluminum from here on. My next coach will probably be my last so I don't want future issues like I have had this year with an older roof exposed to the local elements year round. Caulking & sealing I can do, but not if I have to fight deterioration of the roof fabric itself. I will now focus on an Allegro Bay or Holiday Rambler Vacationer as they seem to meet my personal requirements.Thanks again!

Brite Tek is not EDPM. Totally different. Our 12 year old roof is like new. A simple wash a year keeps it that way. We had the EDPM material on our Fleetwood product and yes it was a bit more labor intensive. Caulking? Have caulked the perimeter of the roof once, there are NO seams. You may want to do some investigative reading on Fiberglass roofs as there are some horror stories out there on them as well. NO roof is fool proof regardless on the material. Good luck and hope you find what works best for you.

Brite Tec is a very durable thermoplastic material that won't tear or slough off material like EPDM. I would not let that stop me from buying a MH that I wanted.

One comment in favor of Brite Tek roofs. All of the Newmar motorhomes, all the way up to the King Aire have Brite Tek on the tops of their slides, and as far as I have heard, no one has had a problem with them.

Brite-Tek is not EPDM nor is it a "rubber" roof. It is more like a polurethane type of material, and is a far superior,extremely durable material. The Brite Tek on my roof is going on 13 years old and still looks almost new.

Thanks for the replies. I am looking further at a Kountry Star 3560 and will look at the roof when I can get to see it in person. My wife and I are taking the advice given here to not overlook it due to Brite-Tek alone. I am still hoping to get the storage dimensions before travelling to see it as that could still be a deal breaker for us. We love our anti-gravity recliners and don't want to give them up. They are too much a part of our lifestyle and purpose for RVing at all. Can anyone PM me with pictures and dimensions of any compartments that will accept chairs that are 25x36x5 folded up? They are too heavy to lug in and out from under the bed. Putting them in my toad is out too due to space limitations. Hanging them on the ladder would subject them to weather issues. My Pace Arrow Vision has plenty of room so we have been spoiled up until now.
