Hi. I had the same problem & did the 'Hit it with a rubber mallet' trick for 3 years. I finally replaced the motor. Look for a left front window motor for a 1986-1995 Ford Taurus. Also, look at the NAPA part # BK655-1395 or Dorman # 742-205 0r 206. You may also want to read the old posts from a guy called OZARKWOODS.
