Coming back with more information for the next person to have this problem.
On this forum and others and on Facebook, I had "experts" (cough cough) telling me to "drain the hydraulic fluid and use a 2x4 to raise them." Um...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It took a while out here in the boonies to get a mobile mechanic to come out. It turns out I have a bad control panel. The technician did release a little fluid (which I would have had no way of knowing how to do that) and it took him, a professional and a strong man (I'm a solo female) an hour to get all four of them up using proper equipment. (Apparently if he would have drained ALL of the fluid it would have been easy, but a huge mess in the RV park. A huge no-no!)
I talked to several RV shops who didn't do mobile repair and they all said NO do NOT release that fluid in the RV park and NO do NOT use 2x4s. Yes, the professional who came out released a little fluid, he had to, but he knew what he was doing. Recommending that someone who knows nothing to try this is foolishness.
So, I'm not repaired, but I'm safe to go up the road and I'll be boondocking in truck stops for a couple of nights, then my final destination is a level campground with concrete pad. I'll get a new control panel once I reach my three-month stop.
So relieved to finally be able to leave tomorrow. Stressful few days!
