Don't have one of these, but it should be pretty simple. Try pushing up on the left hand switch/paddle, and the gauge should show the pressure in the left air bag, and it should rise. You may need the ignition or house battery on depending on how it is wired. Pushing down on the same switch/paddle should lower the pressure. Working the right hand switch/paddle should do the same for the right hand air bag.
The above is based on the Firestone controls I've seen. If by "remote" you mean wireless, then it may be totally different.
